Professor of Criminal Law at University of São Paulo/USP, he is the author and coauthor of numerous doctrinal works on Criminal Law, among which "Dosimetria da Pena - Causas de Aumento e Diminuição" , by Malheiros Editores, in 1998; “Atualidades em Direito e Processo Penal” , by Editora Método, in 2009; in addition to coordinating  “The Interpreted Brazilian Penal Code - Article by article, paragraph by paragraph, already in its 10th edition, by Editora Manole.

He is the former president of the Institute of Christian Jurists of Brazil; former president of the Manoel Pedro Pimentel Institute, linked to USP's Department of Criminal Law and Forensic Medicine; former vice-president of the OAB/SP Rights and Prerogatives Committee; member of the OAB/SP Law and Religious Liberty Committee; former member of the OAB/SP Human Rights Committee; former member of public tender boards; former member of legislative reform Committee; member of the Witness Protection Program (Provita), of the Secretariat of Justice and Defense of Citizenship of the Government of the State of São Paulo.
